Affiliate Marketing

I now have eight affiliates under me with SFI. None of them are confirmed yet, though. But still, It's not bad considering I've only used free marketing!

Scams Everywhere!

Like millions of people all over the United States, I have been job hunting for the last three months. It’s really depressing, all these jobs that I am more than capable of doing, but I’m not being hired.
The job market has changed incredibly since the last time I was job hunting, 21 years ago. Nobody wants to see my face anymore. “Please apply at our website.” “Send your resume to this email address.” Even the large companies don’t want to see the applicant. Usually the email address is an anonymous email address, so it’s very difficult to follow up with the company. More often than not, the company doesn’t even supply their name or address in the job posting.
If I were doing the hiring, I think I would want a look at the person. Does the applicant look professional? Does the applicant fit the job description? The company will never know that I look professional and take pride to work in a professional manner.
The most difficult jobs to apply for aren’t really jobs at all, but simply affiliate marketing companies looking for affiliates. I think 75% of the administrative assistant jobs I have applied for turn out to be ads for companies wanting new affiliates.
Now, I don’t have a problem with companies trying to recruit new affiliates. I want to recruit new affiliates. But I’m tired of words being minced. If the company wants to recruit new affiliates, post it as a recruiting position. Don’t post it as an administrative position answering emails. I had quite a debate with one such affiliate, who posted it as free to join. It was free for seven days. Then it was explained to me that it was an investment. Investment and “free to join” are two very different things.
Doing surveys in your spare time won’t earn $1000’s per month. Enough said on that one. Why do these companies post in the want ads?
Just be careful of all the scams posted online. Always take a good look at the company if it’s posted in the listing. I check the Yellow Pages to see if there’s actually a listing for the company. Also, check the email address. Sometimes it’s not anonymous, sometimes the name of the company is posted, and then you have a human contact.
Good luck with the job hunt! I know I need it!

Affiliate Marketing

So... someone signed up from my website for SFI! They haven't confirmed yet, but its a start! I sent the person an email, so I'll contact someone at SFI if they don't sign up tomorrow. So at least something good has happened. And I also figured out how to add a signature to my email, finally. Maybe someone I know will feel sorry for me and buy something!

New Product To Sell

So I’ve finished the website. While I wait to see if I get any results from it, I’m going to keep working in other directions. There’s lots of companies out there that have products they want sold. The problem is they want money to join their programs, if I had money I probably wouldn’t be trying to do this.
I came across a company called. SFI. I get paid a commission for selling their products. They don’t charge a fee to join as an affiliate! That’s a big bonus, I really don’t have any money for start-up costs. There’s a variety of products to sell. They provide training and have ideas for advertising. So, I’m going to see if I can make this work!

The new site is up

Well, after about 5 days of work and stress, the second website is online. There were a lot of problems publishing it. I’m not excited about this one. Last time I was proud of the accomplishment. This time I’m just relieved that it’s up and running. I really need to do some editing to the other site, but I’m worried about the publishing end, so I’m going to put it off till tomorrow. Enough stress for one day. But it’s up and running. Now it needs to make me some money.

Not A Dime

So, I haven’t spent any money trying to make some money, but I haven’t made a dime either. I have tried everything I can think of. I built a site based on making money online. Something is wrong with it and it’s still not online. I ran with PTC ads, but it hasn’t come up with anything. I’ve seen some interesting programs, but they all need some sort of fee for start up costs, which I don’t have.
One that was interesting was a photographers program. For a $50 start up fee, you get connected with companies that will buy your photographs. I have boxes and boxes of discs, which have about 10 years of pictures on them. Maybe I’ll be able to try it after I make some money.
In the meantime, I’ve applies for jobs that haven’t called me back, which can make me feel even better!

PTC-PTR-PTP

I’ve been doing the PTC sites. You sign up for free, then you click on sites and visit them for 10-30 seconds, then you get credit for viewing the sites. It seems silly at first, you get $0.0001 per view, or something crazy, like that. After a few days of doing it, I discovered the bonus; I can cash in my points/ earnings to have my site viewed!
I almost used my main site, but I realized all the sites I was viewing had to do with making money online in some way.
So… I used an affiliate link I got with Profit Lance to cash in some of the points I had accumulated to run an ad on one of the sites. Hopefully I can get some traffic this way. It’s a lot cheaper than Adwords!

Trying To Make Some Money

Well, I’m realizing that I’ve been going at this the wrong way. The cooking website is nice and it’s what I’m really interested in. But so far, it hasn’t earned a dime. I think people searching online are more interested in making money.
So I’m changing my course of action. I’m going to focus on selling affiliate tools for making money. Later on, when there’s a little money in the bank, I’ll go back and try to do dome of my own recipe writing.
So now I feel like I’m treading water and slowly sinking!

The Website

Well, the website is finally finished. It was a big accomplishment. I’m glad that step is done. It will probably be easier the next time. It was very challenging.
The site wasn’t ready when I thought it was. I had to change quite a few things. I still don’t understand a lot of what I did, but it’s up and running. Once I knew it wasn’t working I had to keep going back and trying again, and again. Finally, after completely giving up on one portion, and changing some more, it’s running. I kept going back to various forums and discussions online to gain more knowledge. For only having limited computer knowledge, I had to read things through more than once to see if the issues applied to me.
Then somehow I locked part of it, but I was able to unlock it. I’ll have to have a friend explain the finer points of website construction to me.
Now I haven’t been working for the last six weeks on it. Life has thrown us too many curve balls this year. It hasn’t stopped. But it took a solid week of working to get the site to this point. It’s a very simple site, but it’s working.
Now I have to make it work for me.

Website Construction

So after a couple of stressful sessions, I think the website is almost done. I just need to add a couple more links, and it will be ready to go. It took some patience, but the program I used works. I’m trying to keep it as simple as possible, I hope I can have it done by Monday. My biggest problem is time to work when the kids need to be chauffeured around!
The good news is my article was published! I changed it enough to make it work! So after I get this site up and running I’ll see about writing another for marketing!

A Down Day

I was turned down for an article I submitted today. I thought I could put the name of the company in the article as long as I didn’t put it in the article as a link, which I don’t know how to do anyway. I also can’t use the website link I used in the author’s area. It’s an affiliate link, not my own site. But I don’t have my own site yet. I didn’t realize I couldn’t use it.
That was my plan to start learning how to use Adwords to make money. I’m still working on creating my website, so I had hoped I could make a little money this way to get started. Oh well, I’ll have to rewrite the article and try again. And I’ll have to try something else to start making money till the website is ready to go.
So I guess I have to go back and rework everything and try again!

Does This Really Work?

I have always been curious about work at home jobs. As a stay at home parent, sometimes the extra money would have been nice. Not necessary, but nice.
So then 2008 came. It’s been a bad year. I have learned to not even think “it can’t get any worse”. Turns out, it can, again and again and again.
So now it’s July, we’ve just moved. The promise of available work in the area is rapidly disappearing. But now we’ve moved our family here. So we have to find a way to make this move work.
We were discussing work at home options, to give us some extra income to keep afloat. So my husband typed ‘work at home’ into a search engine. We found one that didn’t come up as a scam! Profit Lance actually had decent reviews in the blogs and forums!
So we debated for a couple of days. Finally my husband pointed out that we really didn’t have anything else to lose at this point. It was only $77, which is cheap compared to a lot of the sites. It has a 60 day return policy. So I ordered it.
What we got is much more than a work at home job. Profit Lance is really a training system to teach me how to market on the internet. I don’t even need my own products at first. Now there is a lot to learn, it’s pretty overwhelming at first. It’s full of information and training tools to get started. I’ve already begun working on the different components. There is lots of work ahead of us. It’s not a get rich quick scheme, we have to work at it, put time in, to make it work.
We’re going to take this step by step and see if we can make some money!
I’ll let you know how it goes!
